XGIMI MoGo 2 Packaging and Accessories:
The MoGo 2 arrives in a sleek white box with an attractive image of the projector on the front. Opening the box reveals the MoGo 2 projector itself, accompanied by a remote control with batteries, a mains charger, and all the necessary manuals. XGIMI has focused on providing essential accessories to keep the packaging minimal and clutter-free.
A minor consideration when unpacking the MoGo 2 is the orientation of the mains plug. Depending on your power leads, the prongs of the plug may occupy two plug spaces. While this is not a major issue, it’s worth noting to ensure compatibility or to purchase a suitable power lead if needed.
Examining the XGIMI MoGo 2 in Detail:
The MoGo 2’s design exudes elegance and sophistication. Its frosty grey finish and compact form factor make it visually appealing, leaving a lasting impression. The main lens, located at the top front of the projector, projects the video, while a small sensor at the bottom front enables the Auto Keystone feature, a standout characteristic of the MoGo 2. This feature ensures optimal viewing angles and image quality, automatically adjusting the projection to deliver the best possible visual experience.
At the top of the projector, you’ll find the XGIMI logo, a small power button, and a power indication LED. These minimalist design elements add a touch of simplicity and functionality to the overall aesthetics of the MoGo 2.
Turning the projector over, the bottom panel features important information and a mounting hole for the upcoming Freestyle Stand, set to be released in July 2023. Until then, the mounting hole allows users to attach the MoGo 2 to a tripod, offering additional versatility in terms of placement and positioning. Using a tripod not only provides stability but also expands the range of environments where the projector can be used.
Moving to the back of the XGIMI MoGo 2, we find the input ports that cater to various connectivity needs. These include a USB Type-C port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, and an audio 3.5mm jack. These ports ensure compatibility with a wide range of devices, allowing seamless connectivity for gaming consoles, laptops, media players, and more. The inclusion of an audio jack is a thoughtful addition, enabling users to connect headphones directly to the projector and enjoy a personalized audio experience.
Just below the connectivity ports, you’ll notice the bass diaphragm, which offers a unique viewing experience by providing a glimpse of the speaker and its sound movement. While this feature doesn’t significantly impact performance, it adds a visually interesting element and contributes to the overall appeal of the MoGo 2.

Gaming Experience on the XGIMI MoGo 2:
As an avid gamer, I was excited to put the XGIMI MoGo 2 to the test in the gaming department. I connected my gaming console and prepared for an immersive gaming experience.
To my delight, the MoGo 2 exceeded my expectations. The combination of its 720p resolution, vibrant colors, and HDR 10 enhanced contrast delivered visually captivating gameplay. Whether I was exploring fantastical worlds or engaging in intense battles, the MoGo 2 rendered the graphics with impressive clarity and detail.
The color representation was accurate, and the image quality remained sharp and vivid. The 400 ISO lumens ensured sufficient brightness, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the gaming experience without any distracting dimness or loss of detail. Additionally, the low input lag of the MoGo 2 contributed to a seamless and responsive gaming session.
I tested various genres of games, including action, adventure, and racing, and the MoGo 2 handled them all flawlessly. From fast-paced action sequences to breathtaking landscapes, the projector delivered smooth visuals, bringing the games to life in a larger-than-life format. The larger screen size of the projector also added to the immersion, allowing me to appreciate intricate details and immerse myself fully in the gaming world.
Power Usage and Portability:
The XGIMI MoGo 2 is designed to be a portable projector that offers flexibility in terms of power consumption. I decided to have some fun and test its power usage in different scenarios.
During my initial testing, which involved browsing, opening and closing apps on the MoGo 2, the average power consumption was around 51W. This power draw was recorded over a span of approximately 5 minutes, ensuring a representative sample.
To further gauge power usage, I conducted a 20-minute test while playing a movie with the volume set at around 75% of its maximum level. I observed that the power consumption settled around an average of 49.7W during this test. Despite the extended usage and the potential for increased power draw due to heat dissipation, the MoGo 2 efficiently maintained its power consumption, indicating optimized performance.
Finally, I tested the ECO mode, which is specifically designed for use with a portable battery bank. In this mode, the power draw dropped to an average of 42.5W and remained consistent whether I was browsing apps or watching a movie. This low power consumption demonstrates the MoGo 2’s suitability for use with a 65W or higher-capacity portable battery bank, allowing for extended outdoor usage without compromising performance.
