The Lattissima Pro has a sleek artisan coffee shop look. It has a curved aluminium front, with the water reservoir almost hidden at the back. The cup folder can fold out for smaller cups, or be hidden away for taller (up to 5.5 inches) glasses. When folded it merges into the design and doesn’t look like its there. The drip tray features the same aluminium look, with only a flash of red when the tray is full. The whole thing is solid, heavy and built to last. A nice addition is a light on the cup holder, so you don’t have to turn on all the lights when making a coffee in the morning.
The touch screen is reduced on the top, so as on the front view can’t be seen. The water reservoir can be lifted out when needed to be refilled and then slotted back in again. The lid can be opened if you wanted to refill it when you don’t want to remove it.

The removable milk jug is a stroke of genius. It slots into the front and the system will start to heat up. You can then remove it and place back in the fridge. This stops the need to have to put milk in and out of the bottle. The slot can also be closed when not in use, this protects it from the splashback. There is a hot water tap which can be used in that place, and it can then be stored in the side in another hidden section. This isn’t something I have seen before and a fantastic use fo space.
At its core, the Lattissima Pro works the same as any other Nespresso machine. You lift the flap and slot the Nespresso pod in and close the flap. But now you have a lovely touch screen to pick the kinda drink you want. If you leave the milk jug in the fridge, then you can pick from Ristretto, Espresso and Lungo. Attach the milk jug, and you have the added choice of hot milk, cappuccino and latte.

The screen will also show you that the machine is heating, and how long the drink will take to make with a little progress bar. I did accidentally touch a button a couple of times, but you can touch it again to stop the action.
The choice of Nespresso pods is huge, and places like Amazon have pages of them. Sainsburys, Waitrose and Tesco all offer their take on the Nespresso pods. Places like Roar Gill are making eco-friendly pods, which are better for the environment. Currently, I use two pods per morning brew for work. One espresso, a lungo and then hot milk.
In the morning, I can turn on the Lattissima Pro and it’ll be ready to go in 15 seconds. I can then have a hot drink in around 50, due to my double and hot milk choice. You can have a cappuccino in around 45 seconds.
Nespresso Lattissima Pro Directions for Use
I am a fan of coffee shops, and since buying these I haven’t bought a single coffee from a shop. This is just as good, if not better. You can grab pods from bucks or Costa if you want, but I am a fan of the Nero pods. If you are a coffee conosuier, this may not be for you.
The one complaint I have seen a lot is the milk jug needing to be cleaned. You need to be taking it apart and soaking it every other day. We have gotten into the habit of doing when at work, then come back and put it together for the next morning. This isn’t that bad and makes sure you avoid any damage to your coffee or the machine. If you have a dishwasher, then it’s a no brainer.

After each serving of milk, you just twist the head to clean and it’ll pump water through. We just throw an old cup under it to catch all the liquid. The machine will tell you when to descale and should do it twice a year. You can buy the Nespresso descaler, but we used Wilko own brand and it worked a treat. The machine runs you through what to do via the screen.
Overall, this is a fantastic piece of kit. It’s on Amazon for £265 which isn’t that bad if you go and buy coffees every day. This machine is 6 years old, it was released back in 2014. But I can’t see any better machine then this one. Finally, check out our Digital Home section for other reviews. Also, don’t forget to connect with the Jabba Reviews team on Facebook or Twitter.
