With ergonomics tailored to a wide range of hand sizes and many options usually found on professional controllers, NACON’s Pro Compact is an alternative of choice for gamers looking for comfort and performance. In addition to offering the classic features of the Xbox Wireless Controller, a dedicated App available from the Microsoft Store gives access to the Advanced mode settings to create your game profile.
As you have probably guessed this is a smaller size than other controllers. As this is wired it’s lighter, overall making for a strange first experience. But after a game or two of Fortnite, I was right into it. The different shape does mean that controller accessories won’t fit.
The face buttons are a lot larger, which makes certain button smashing games easier to play. They have a nice solid click when pressed, and feels satisfying when pressing them. The sticks are very nice and sturdy, with a metal ring to prevent wearing them down. The dpad is a little wishy-washy for me and lacks the sturdy feel of the other components.
The fun doesn’t end there though, there’s an app! This app allows you to change the programmable buttons, stick settings and trigger sensitivity controls. This is a massive plus and puts it in a league of its own. The final plus is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos. A key is included to activate the app, allowing you to enjoy Dolby Atmos via the controller.
Overall, the Nacon Pro Compact Controller for Xbox is a compact controller with a bevvy of plus points.
