Nacon Official Xbox MG-X Mobile Android Gaming Controller Review
This is incredibly comfortable. After fitting it over my S20 Ultra, my fingers naturally fall over the R2 and L2 triggers. I have large hands, but I found this to be a great fit for me. The back has a curved rubber back, which feel great to rest your fingers on. There is a rubber finish which is great for long gaming sessions. I will say that the triggers are incredibly stiff, and reading other reviews shows that this isn’t just my unit.
The whole unit is made from black ABS plastic, making it sturdy and easy to just chuck in your bag. The middle features a USB-C port and a black rubber interior. You can pull it open, with a spring mechanism. You then slide your device onto the USB-C port which can point upwards. I got this the first time, but cases and phone holders will have to be removed. It will fully extend to accommodate phones of up to 16.7cm. The rubber grips allow some space behind your device, which is key for airflow.
The battery will need to charge via the USB-C port, and this connects via Bluetooth. The connection has always been stable and I didn’t notice any real issues.
I tested with a variety of games and the MG-X worked on everything I threw at it. Fortnite played perfectly and I was able to move around and shoot without any problems. Emulators such as Drastic, Dolphin and MD.emu all took control. For a couple, I did have to map the controls, but this doesn’t take too long at all.
Overall, the Nacon Official Xbox MG-X Mobile Android Gaming Controller has to be the best controller I have used. The clamping mechanic is great and the connection is snappy and fast.
