Easily connect all your intelligent devices to the TaoTronics AC3000 Mesh WiFi Router, including automatic electric roller for the garage door, smart door security system, thermostatic bath shower mixer, TV box, etc., perfect for large homes up to 6,000 sq. ft with fast WiFi. (1/2/3-Pack mesh routers are available).

Opening the box is a nice experience, the first thing you see is the pack containing the Quick Start Guide and a note with support contact details for TaoTronics.
A big selling point is that it has a Bluetooth connection and can be setup/managed using an iOS or Android app. The setup process is a breeze for anyone. Once I had done the initial setup I was prompted to update the firmware via the app.
It has a very strong wireless signal and great performance. The TaoTronics router consistently provided a strong signal and managed the same speeds as my previous router. The app to control the wireless router is simple, well laid out and a doddle to use. I got great coverage and a stable connection on 2.4GHz, 5.0GHz and 5.8GHz (nice to see it supports this).
TaoTronics AC3000 Mesh WiFi Router Features:

The TaoTronics AC3000 Mesh WiFi Router comes setup with a default ‘AI system optimisation’ setting which restarts the router every day at 03:00 am. Also, it makes sure the router is stable and the best channel is being used for the wireless.
It supports automatic channel selection, automatic bandwidth selection, automatic power selection, quick roaming, AP steering and band steering all of which are turned on by default. You can attach a USB HDD/Stick to the USB 3.0 port and use the router as NAS. The router also has 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports which are very handy.
It’s very stylish with a nice LED ring light on top that provides information quickly depending on what colour/mode it is in. The case has nice silver feet, a matt finish and very good passive cooling so the router doesn’t get hot at all. All the ports are round the back and well laid out.
There is no way to manage the router via a web interface, this will not be a problem for most users but it is something I would like to see.
Overall, the TaoTronics AC3000 Mesh WiFi Router has great range and stability. The app is easy to use and makes managing the router a breeze. Stay AWAY from Taotronics Mesh Routers. They provide absolutely no documentation with the product and leaves the owner to figure it out on their own. They won’t even allow a tech to speak with you to explain the more detailed nuisances of the product. It appears to have a lot of features but they refuse to put out documentation. Right now these things are very expensive routers. Don’t think these guys will be around very long, don’t waste your money, buy from a legitimate company
I agree with the lack of documentation, but they aren’t that expensive. The fact that I can have 200 devices connected to each node is amazing (and I have 2 nodes). With over 90 connected devices (and more coming), I couldn’t find any other mesh systems under $300 that would meet my needs, and I only paid $169 for both nodes. TaoTronics sells lots of other stuff, and they’ve been around for awhile. The only thing that concerns me is the fact that the router and all of it’s software/firmware seem to originate from China.
You hit it on the head….I completely agree because I have the exact feeling about price and functionality. Tried to reach support for details about security of the system as no details are provided about the AI features and not much (no security) configuration an owner can apply, seems it is just not going to happen. Yes it works but you have to trust that the systems is robust in its security configuration, to include seller ability to access the system without owner knowledge. I would like to know and hope that all system sold in the US by foreign entities as such are deeply researched and tested by a federal or approved private company with security posture in mind. Know that is easier said than done.
