This is a difficult game to review. It’s difficult because it is a bad game, but its bad on purpose. You control a goat causing mayhem in a glitchy world. You’ll see references to movies and other games. Goat Simulator: The GOATY is not a game to be taken seriously.

There is no objective in Goat Simulator. There are things you can do and unlock, but these aren’t mandatory. You start the game with no help and no tutorial. Unlocking is easy in the beginning, as just moving is an unlockable achievement. Destoring things and people is the main objective. As you are a goat with super goat strength. So you can run through walls, headbutt people and destroy vans.

I will admit spending a stupid amount of time, just trying to bug out the game. I became a rag doll at any oppotunity. Therefore, allowing me to crash through parts of the game I don’t think we were meant to go through.

Goat Simulator doesn’t look good. It’s glitchy and I was getting framerates of 20 when playing in docked mode. Though it’s difficult to know when this was intentional or not. The controls are difficult to grasp and running on the Switch hardware doesn’t do this game any favours.

The GOATY comes with any DLC released previously. These include added game modes and splinters from the main game. There are so many nods to pop culture its diffcult to list. The DLC allows you to renact GTA, go into space and headbutt people on the moon!

Your doctor isn’t going to recommend this game. Also, it has to be played in short bursts, and great with a group of people and alcohol. Finally, please check out our other gaming reviews.
