Trüberbrook on Nintendo Switch is a thrilling mystery-sci-fi adventure game. Enjoy an adventurous vacation to a 1960’s parallel universe! A Sci-Fi-Mystery Adventure Game with handmade scenery. Imagine yourself on a vacation to Europe in the late sixties. Now, picture yourself as a young American scientist; Hans Tannhauser. While you’re at it, think of Trüberbrook, a remote village in rural Germany. Because that’s where you end up after hitting the continent. But who cares, you won the trip in a lottery! Or at least, that’s how it seems. But don’t fear, instead of getting some rest, you could find yourself having to save the world.
Gameplay involves interaction with characters and the environment, to move the story forward. There are puzzles, which when completed will also move the story forward. Though the problem is, this isn’t new. The point and click, conversation and puzzle mechanic just isn’t exciting anymore.
Trüberbrook Nintendo Switch Gameplay
The puzzles are quite difficult, and I did find myself cycling through interaction options a couple of times. This can make the whole game feel a bit slow. Especially considering I felt the overall characters felt clunky, but I think this can be fixed with an update.
Though the game is gorgeous to look at. The picture realistic backdrop, against the almost claymation characters, is a joy to behold. It almost feels like a stop motion movie. The voice work and music are perfect, and you can tell a lot of time was spent on it. The overall story is enticing and everything is tied up with a bow at the end.
Trüberbrook will not break the point-and-click mold. But, if you are interested in an interactive story, then this will be the one to get. It looks and sounds great. Finally, check out our other gaming reviews. Also, don’t forget to check on our Twitter and Facebook.
