Digestive difficulties can be very frustrating, and they want to help. The FoodMarble AIRE is a portable breath test device and connected app. While doctors have used this type of breath analysis for years, this is the first personal device of its kind. They designed it to help the millions of people who experience digestive difficulties.

I found the FoodMarble AIRE super easy to use. It was very informative when monitoring my symptoms after eating or drinking. The additional sachets you can purchase on top are well worth it so you can discover whether you have a certain intolerance. These included lactose, fructose, sorbitol and inulin. The battery life is excellent, I very rarely had to worry about charging it.

I did notice an issue where it sometimes times out saying I didn’t exhale for the full 5 seconds. This was normally as soon as the device is turned on. Speaking with customer service, this can happen with condensation in the air and is common.

I think the FoodMarble AIRE is let down by the app. Though the app is well built, how it collects and displays the data can at times not be clear or easy to read. Logging meals and drinks can be done within the app, but the preset options are limited. This means a lot of time is spent adding food into the app, weighing amounts etc. I understand you can request the data be sent to you in an exported format, but it would be easier to have the option on the app itself. There are several meal tracking apps, which have features the FoodMarble AIRE lacks.

The huge plus is the sachets you can purchase, allowing you to track which specific food types may be affecting your digestion. This is a device which you can’t just jump into using, you need to understand the science and that time is the big element in its use. You need to be consistent and track as you use.

Customer services and Lisa the co-founder are a big help, as they will help explain what is user error and what isn’t. Once I get used to the app and how best to use it, it’s becoming very easy to use. Finally, check out our other lifestyle reviews.
