As gamers prepare for the launch of an exciting new generation of consoles, Venom’s charging range for PS5 is here to ensure they can play to their heart’s content. The new Venom PS5 Controller Twin Docking Station and 3 Metre Dual Play & Charge Cable help extend playing times and avoid frustrating mid-game power-loss.
Venom PS5 Controller Twin Docking Station
Designed to aesthetically match your PS5 console and dual sense controller, the stylish Venom PS5 Controller Twin Docking Station offers fast efficient charging for up to 2 of your PS5 controllers simultaneously. Simply connect the discreet USB charging dongles to your controllers and then place on the dock for instant charging without the need to connect fiddly USB cables.
This feels very light, which to some may be a sign of cheap materials. The bottom black section has a USB-A port for a third charging option and a USB-C port for power.
The white top contains the slots for the two controllers to sit on. This won’t work with the controllers straight away. You need to use the included USB adapters. These have USB-C plugs which go into the back of the PS5 controller. They then have connectors on the bottom, which slot into the slots on the charger. All you need to do is plug the adapter in the USB-C port on your DualSense controller, make sure the adapter lines up with the dock charge ports and it will charge. It won’t ruin your USB-C port (or, well, I haven’t seen any damage caused by it so far).
I would say that the adapter is a bit big, but doesn’t make the controller less comfortable to use. What I would say is that the adapter should click into place on the dock, to prevent it from sliding around too much when you do decide to recharge. I think the use of magnets or an actual clip would be a good idea.
Overall, the Venom PS5 Controller Twin Docking Station is a great cheap substitute for the official PS5 dock.
Venom PS5 3 Metre Dual Play & Charge Cable
The Venom PS5 3 Metre Dual Play & Charge Cable offers a convenient 3-metre length with a twin type C USB output design allowing you to charge up to two controllers from one cable. The braided tangle-free design allows you to keep playing from a comfortable distance whilst power is quickly restored to your controllers.
This is a pretty standard dual charging cable. It’s braided, but they went with a blue and black look, where I feel white and black would’ve matched the PS5 more.
The three meters is a good distance, but not enough to charge while playing. The length is only really for charging two controllers and placing them somewhere safe.
Overall, for under £10 the Venom 3 Metre Dual Play & Charge Cable is an economical decision for any PS5 owners watching their wallets.
