Human Fall Flat originally came out back in December 2017 in digital only, and Super Rare Games decided to pick this to be their first physical release. So fast forward 4 months and we have a boxed copy of Human Fall Flat.

The game was sent in a golden package which was a nice touch. Once opened there was a Super Rare Games sticker, the pack of trading cards and the game itself. The case had the number one on the side, as this is their first release. The cartridge itself looked identical to the other cartridges I have used in the past.

Each Super Rare Games purchase includes the following items:

  • Fully assembled Nintendo Switch game with a cartridge
  • Interior art
  • Exclusive sticker
  • 3 card trading card pack

The trading cards were a nice touch and make the physical purchase worth it. There were also some ads for future releases, but the trading cards were the best bit.

The game itself is a fun game, though I will admit it is frustrating to play. You can customize your character to a high degree, including different style heads and colours. I could spend a good number of hours customising the character.

The character uses rag doll mechanics, and this is where the frustration of movement lies. Though the first couple of levels are fun and easy, it can become very difficult.

I think the idea of physical releases for digital games is great and especially for game collectors is a huge bonus. It means like people like me can keep our game collection up to date and on show for visitors to see. The added bonuses like the trader cards are great to see.
