Using the same cutting-edge technology as our pro line of gaming products, including brilliant Prism lighting, a new performance-focused sensor, and unreal levels of durability, the SteelSeries RIVAL 3 Wired Gaming Mouse was made for gaming.

The RIVAL 3 has nice grippy texture on the side of the mouse. There is a slight curve on the sides for a more ergonomic feel. The bump takes a little getting used to, as it’s not as far back as I am used to. This is a classic design that has been optimized for gamers.

The sensor is incredibly responsive, with the mouse picking up every little movement I made. When playing Fortnite, I was able to aim and move without any lag. The sensor offers 100 to 8,500 CPI delivering incredible accuracy, tracking speed and consistency. This means when the mouse is moved or clicked the onscreen response is virtually instantaneous.
Finally, the issue with the mouse is the buttons. After a light touch on the left mouse button, it feels like it takes an eternity to go back up. This can mean when firing a rifle, you have a huge gap between the shots. This may be down to the mechanical button tensioning. It uses metal springs to help keep the left and right mouse buttons primed to click, reducing the force needed.
Also, SteelSeries Engine Software unlocks an impressive arsenal of Engine Apps that make customization of the 3-zone RGB lighting easy and intuitive. The Discord and GameSense Engine Apps allow for chat notifications, in-game events, and more.
Overall, the SteelSeries RIVAL 3 Wired Gaming Mouse is a good solid mouse. I need to get used to the button tension, but for the price, this is a great choice. Finally, please check out our gaming reviews. Also, don’t forget to connect with the Jabba Reviews team on Facebook or Twitter.
