One amazing thing to note was that Slice was founded in 2008 by TJ Scimone as a way to help fund long-term care for his autistic son. A minimum of 1 percent of all Slice sales is donated to help fund research into the condition. It’s great to have a story behind these businesses.
Standard metal blades are rated 5.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. The Slice Ceramic Blades are rated at 8.2! The harder edges maintain sharpness longer and cut better.
In my testing, the Slice Safety Cutter makes light work of tough blister packaging, as well as clamshell packaging, coupons, wrapping paper etc. I will say that if you don’t tend to order in stuff with packaging, then this may not be a good purchase for you. As a reviewer, I get parcels and packages every day, so this is a godsend.
It’s slim and light, making it perfect to have on my keys. The addition of magnet means I can attach it around the house for easy access.
