The mophie universal batteries just got more powerful. The mophie powerstation USB-C XXL is a high-capacity universal battery with enough power to charge a USB-C laptop as well as charge all your other USB devices.
I was blown away by how small the mophie powerstation was, given its XXL namesake. The whole thing is a tad under 400g, which isn’t light, but a damn sight lighter then I was expecting it to be. It’s only around 6 inches long and only 3 inches tall, so its the perfect bag companion.
Normally the external batteries I review are all black boxes with smooth edges. The powerstation XXL features a dark grey fabric wrap around the middle, which helps protect other devices in the same bag. The shape is also different with a dip along the side. This side features the white LEDs to show the battery status, and a button to check on the status. There is no “power button” due to the powerstation turning on automatically. Though this button is needed when you want to charge the battery off a device like a laptop.

There are a USB-A port and a USB-C port along one end. The USB-C port is used to charge the powerstation and of course other USB-C devices. The USB-A port is a nice touch for any older devices.
A nice touch is the use of Priority+ pass-through. This allows the powerstation can charge a device via the USB-A port, while itself being plugged in via the USB-C. When that device is fully charged, then the powerstation itself will start to charge,
Along with the powerstaion, XXL was a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A cable. There was no plug, but it can be plugged into any power source.
We found that the 19,500 mAh capacity was able to charge a variety of devices including my Switch, laptops and tablets. Using our Asus Zenbook 3 we found the powerstation was able to keep it going after the battery had started to run out. I was also able to play with Switch whilst being plugged in with no issues.
This is a fantastic battery for any USB-C device owners. This is especially true if you have a laptop which powers via USB-C. Finally, check out our other charging reviews. Also, don’t forget to connect with the Jabba Reviews team on Facebook or Twitter.
