Missile Command: Recharged on Nintendo Switch is a re-imagining of the beloved classic with fast-paced, arcade action where players must defend their bases by blasting an endless barrage of missiles hailing from the sky. Launch counter-missiles to protect your base and target powerups to gain an edge at critical moments. Missile Command: Recharged will appeal to those that fondly remember playing the original or its many iterations, and a whole new generation of gamers that are looking for a fast-paced, pick-up-and-play, arcade goodness.

Missile Command: Recharged Nintendo Switch Trailer
Atari has stuck with the original gameplay of Missile Command, but have added a few bells and whistles to update it for 2020. There is a single-player campaign you have to play through, this is your dads Missile Command. You control 3 bases and have to shoot missiles to defend them. There are two control options, you can use the thumbsticks to aim and shoot, or (as I found the best way) touch the screen in handheld mode. You have to aim for where you think the enemy fire will go, to defend your bases.

You continue to play until all your bases have been destroyed. When you fail, you gain points to spend on upgrades. These include things like rate of fire and the damaged caused by your missiles. This upgrade system and the polished graphics are the two big updates to the game.
Graphics-wise, they have gone for a stylised neon colour palette. This sticks with the retro feel of the game while making it pop on the Switch screen. The sounds are familiar with them falling into the background as you shoot down enemies.

Overall, Missile Command: Recharged on Nintendo Switch is a fun game to have on the go. It’s cheap at £2.99 and features an online leaderboard so you can try to beat the scoreboard of the world. Finally, check out Jabba Reviews. Also, follow us on Twitter or Facebook.
