In STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town on Nintendo Switch, your farming life begins in Mineral Town, a charming village surrounded by nature. You’ve returned after many years to restore your late grandfather’s farm to its former glory. Care for crops, livestock, and more as your very own story of seasons unfolds.

With its 3D environments and re-designed characters, STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town on the Nintendo Switch is a far cry from the original Game Boy Advanced game. There are also a couple of prominent differences including the option to pick from two male or female characters. Also, there is an Easy mode, which is perfect for new or younger players. Extra help can be found in-game via books, and the help guide via the main menu.

The clock will only be ticking when you are outside, doing your farming, foraging or dealing with the animals. When you step inside time stops, allowing you to become friends with other characters around town. When you venture into the mines time slows down. This means that day to day time will vary based on what you do.

Your character will start to flag when they are farming, this was very difficult to monitor on the GBA version. But on the new version, you can easily track their stamina and mood via the on-screen gauge.
Nature Sprites are little characters that can help save time and energy in the farm. You can also boost their abilities by playing some mini-games, making them even more efficient.
Using R you can toggle autorun, which makes it a breeze to travel the map. Your horse will also grow up allowing for even faster travel. I did have a little bug where I got stuck inside the horse, but I haven’t been able to recreate this.
I quite liked the dating and marriage side of the game. It was fun to flirt with any gender with a chance of marriage. You also get a nice collectable from a possible date. Don’t want to date? Don’t worry, as friendships will also get you gifts and little in-game moments.

I was disappointed to learn that Forget-Me-Not Valley hasn’t been included in this remake. Though some characters from that area are around the game.
Overall, STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town on the Nintendo Switch is a great example of a good remake. They didn’t touch things that worked and just enhanced the areas to make it fit well on the Switch. Finally, check out Jabba Reviews. Also, follow us on Twitter or Facebook.
