After years of waiting, Master & Dynamic have finally released their own pair of active noise-cancelling headphones. The MW65 New Noise-Canceling Headphones, may not be able to stand up against the big boys in regards to noise cancelling. But the sound these guys produce is out of this world!
One big advantage is the 2-mode noise cancelling. The high mode will block out most traffic, and make any train ride a breeze. The low mode is great for the office, as you can hear when people call you into a meeting. They also feature a 24-hour battery, for when you want to listen to Dark Side of the Moon on repeat. The addition of USB-C means that you can charge these to full in around 30 mins.
The MW65 New Noise-Canceling Headphones are made using aluminium. This makes them incredibly light to wear. They use lambskin on the ear pads and headband. This gives them a great feel on your ears and head. I much prefer this to rubber.
Google Assistant is built in and on testing it worked rather well. I was able to press a button and ask it various questions. It was also able to read out some notifications I got when I was on the bus. I didn’t have any problems making calls. They are equipped with two beamforming noise-reduction mic arrays which block out ambient noise.
Music was rich and warm that captures the detail of high-quality tracks. There isn’t anything amazing or dynamic, but they do have an overall great sound.
These are an expensive set of cans. But the with all Master and Dynamic products you get what you pay for. High-quality materials, with great sound and some excellent ANC. Finally, check out our other audio reviews.
