Marshall Emberton Portable Speaker is a compact portable speaker with the loud and vibrant sound only Marshall can deliver. Emberton utilises True Stereophonic, a unique form of multi-directional sound from Marshall. Experience absolute 360° sound where every spot is a sweet spot. With 20+ hours of playtime, you can enjoy the superior sound of Marshall for hours on end.
At only 16cm long the Emberton is a small speaker. It’s small enough to go into my bag. It’s also light at only 0.7kg. The Marshall look is very prominent, with the Marshall logo on the front, grill effect and gold control knob. Though the grill is at the front only, the True Stereophonic sound means it can be heard from 360 degrees around the speaker.
Marshall Emberton Portable Speaker Review
The top features a Bluetooth button and status LED. There is a red LED indicator for battery and finally the gold Multi-Directional control knob. You can play, pause, skip tracks and adjust the volume of your speaker, as well as turn it on or off.
The battery is around 20 hours, with a USB-C port for charging. The quick-charge feature means I can get around 5 hours of battery from a 20 min charge. Bluetooth 5.0 means a good solid connection, and also multi-host functionality. This means you and a friend can share control of the speaker. There is no 3.5mm jack, which I was disappointed to see.
A nice touch is that the speaker is rated IPX7, so it can be submerged for up to 30 mins. So a great poolside accessory. The feel and design of the Emberton are durable and tough. It has a great solid feel to it.
The sound is rich and deep and is very familiar to other Marshall products. The sound is loud and wide, with punchy bass. Mids and highs are crisp and clear without being affected by volume.
Overall, the Marshall Emberton Portable Speaker is a great outdoor speaker. The 360 degrees sound is great to listen to in a group. Finally, check out our other audio reviews.
