Magic Nations for Nintendo Switch is a strategy card game where you must adapt to battlefield conditions. You have to collect new, powerful units, expand your deck with unique characters, buy and sell your cards! Magic Nations features the deployment of its troops in two rows and subsequent moves with its units until the opponent has no moves available or cards left!

There is an animation intro to this game, which is pretty basic and if I’m honest doesn’t offer much to the gameplay. The board has four rows, two for each player. There are 6 races which make up different cards, each of these offers a different ability and features to the game.

The front row is for melee attacks and the back row are for range attacks. You deal out the cards and move them into place. You can then select a card and drag it to attack the opponents. Meaning that deck choices will have to made to counter their attacks.

Some range attacks have a big attack range, allowing you to take out multiple cards in one attack. My hope is that more elements will be added to the game allowing for more expansion and fun.

In addition, a big part of the game is increasing and selling your deck. In other words, This allows you to remove any unneeded cards and buy more powerful ones. Also the element of online play is good, as it means you can practice on the public and trade your cards. This element of card trading bring memories of Pokemon cards, and it was a nice trip down memory lane.
This reminds me of Gwent from the Witcher games, but a kids version of it. Its fun, at only £2.69 its a great game to pick up and play from time to time. Finally, check out our other gaming reviews.
