Kingston XS2000 2TB Portable SSD Review

I was very surprised that this Kingston SSD is smaller than a Mars bar! Though I don’t plan to carry it around with me, I can see how someone producing large files at home could easily put it into a pocket and take their work elsewhere, eg, to a recording studio or a location where they plan to deliver a presentation, for example, where the driver could be plugged into another computer (Mac or PC). This could be useful for any space-hungry files, including videos, large images, audio recordings, larger presentations, etc.
While file sharing via the cloud is cheap enough and pretty normal these days, the ease of being able to take your work on this drive and plug it into a computer in another location means that you don’t need to worry about whether the host computer has enough internal drive space to accommodate your massive files!
In my case, this 2TB SSD’s tiny size helps keep my desk clearer than I’ve been used to but I’m particularly delighted that it’s available instantly. Unlike my previous drive, which whirred for up to 10 seconds like a tiny helicopter getting its rotors spinning before take-off, this Kingston SSD is totally silent, as there are no moving parts.
Overall, I’m absolutely delighted with the Kingston XS2000 2TB Portable SSD. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
