As a gaming enthusiast who appreciates both design aesthetics and tech practicality, the JSAUX HB0801 8-in-1 RGB Docking Station for the Steam Deck caught my eye immediately. I was intrigued by the amalgamation of tech and design this product promised. I’m delighted to say, it didn’t disappoint.

The moment you unbox the JSAUX HB0801, you’re greeted with its sleek, sturdy build. The material is a mix of ABS&PC and silicone, giving it a robust feel. Its size, measuring 1509228.2mm, is compact enough to carry, but also substantial, exuding quality. At around 315g, it’s a weighty piece of tech, but not overly so.

The most engaging feature is the RGB lighting, it truly sets it apart from the crowd. Using OpenRGB software, I found it easy to customize the RGB lighting effects. The 6 lighting modes including Direct, Breathing, Rainbow Wave, Spectrum Cycle, Race Cycle, and Stacking give a personal touch, effortlessly matching my gaming setup. If mood lighting for your tech sounds appealing, this device is a must-have.

As for practicality, it is equipped with 8 functional ports. These include an HDMI port (4K@60Hz), 2 USB-A 3.0 (5Gbps), 1 USB-A 2.0 (480Mbps), a Gigabit Ethernet port, a USB C-PD port, and 2 USB C ports (5Gbps). Each one performed up to the mark during my testing.

The data transfer rates were impressive. USB-A 3.0 ports offer 5Gbps, providing a smooth and fast transfer experience. The HDMI port supports 4K@60Hz output, which translated into crystal clear visuals when I connected it to an HDTV. Playing games was a visual delight, with no lag or interruption.

One feature I loved was the USB-C PD port, supporting PD 100W power supply. This meant my devices, including my Steam Deck, charged swiftly and efficiently, making it an essential hub for all my devices. However, it’s worth noting that the docking station is incompatible with the Nintendo Switch.

In terms of compatibility, this device proved versatile. It works seamlessly with the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, ONEXPLAYER, AYN Odin, AYANEO, Razer Edge, Logitech G Cloud, and even with iPads and phones.

The docking station also includes some fun additions like face stickers, and the design aspect does not end with just RGB lights. The bracket system is another elegant touch. The bracket ejects and retracts smoothly, adjusting to the right size for your device, making this device even more versatile and easy to use.

So, after a few weeks of intense usage, how do I rate the JSAUX HB0801 8-in-1 RGB Docking Station? It’s a solid 8 out of 10 for me. It combines functionality, aesthetics, and convenience beautifully. However, the incompatibility with the Nintendo Switch and the limited USB-C 3.0 ports kept it from a perfect score.
