Ever since picking up her wrench, the world has been going nuts and she’s wanted to bolt it back together. Now Penance is raining down on everyone she loves and One Concern agents are after her. But something big is going on – bigger than droughts of Ivory fuel and personal conflicts – and Robin’s in the thick of it.
Iconoclasts Nintendo Switch Trailer
The gameplay is very similar to other Metroidvania games. But the focus is on the game narrative. You play with a stun gun and giant spanner, and these are used to clobber enemies in your way. Along the way, you will find chests containing Improvium, which you can use to gain perks. This perks can make you faster, strong, breath for longer underwater.

With tweaks activated, you have more incetive to avoid being hit. As soon as your hit, the tweak is removed. This adds a bit more excitment to the game. You end up trying to get in hits without being hit yourself.
Enemies play second fiddle to the puzzles dotted around each level. Some are pretty straight forward, but this introuce mechanics, that you have to use on bigger puzzles.

The boss battles are unqique from one another and a lot fo fun. They aren’t repetative like other games, but more puzzle based. They were a little on the easy side, but I did find them very refreshing.
The whole game uses bright and bold 16-bit graphics. The pixel art is dynamic, and you can see the differences when you move to a new level. The animation and the movement of the characters is smooth. You can tell that a lot of time was spent on this part of the game. I wasn’t blown away by the music though.

It had taken 8 years to make, but Iconoclasts is a great game to have on the Switch. Though the idea may be samey, the look and boss levels make it a great addition. Finally, please check out our gaming reviews. Also, don’t forget to connect with the Jabba Reviews team on Facebook or Twitter.
