After picking up the Canon M50 camera, I knew I needed a small tripod to pair it with to get good photos and stable time-lapses. I was attracted to the JOBY GorillaPod due to the reputation they had. The best features about the tripod are the small design which makes it easy to travel with. It fits well in all of my camera bags and doesn’t add too much weight.
The strength it has for the small form factor is also great. It holds the Canon M50 well with a variety of lenses. One of my favourite features would be the fact the legs are flexible and can easily wrap around fences and posts to get some interesting shots. I also really like the ball head that it comes with as it makes it simple to take portrait shots.
Overall, I would say that the GorillaPod 1K Compact Tripod Plus Ball Head is a must-buy for anyone that travels around with their camera. I don’t use it often in client projects, but more when I’m travelling. Make sure to pick up the correct GorillaPod for the weight of your camera and lens as I had to return the one I bought for a heavier setup. The flexibility and portability make this a product that I would recommend.
