The eufy eufyCam 2C Wireless Home Security Camera System, 180-Day Battery Life, HD 1080p, IP67 Weatherproof, Night Vision, Compatible with Amazon Alexa, 2-Cam Kit, No Monthly Fee.

Inside the box, you get the two wireless cameras, the home hub, mounts for the cameras and some cables for charging. After downloading the app, you run through the setup process. This involves setting up the Hub first, which will speak to you too. You then set up the cameras, by scanning the barcode on the bottom. The hub will tell you when the camera has been added. We also had a set of Door Sensors, these are as easy to add. You select them from the product list and do what the app says.

The hub can be connected via ethernet for a quick set up. But I would recommend adding the wifi details too, this is just in case the ethernet cable disconnects for whatever reason. The hub can cause issues as if you have a big house, you need to make sure the hub is placed perfectly for all cameras to connect to. For a small flat like mine, I didn’t have any issues at all.
Performance and response are perfect. The door sensor will alert me as soon as I have opened my door, and the camera will record a short clip of me. Day and night recordings are clear and faces etc are easy to make out.

The night vision works either with a night vision sensor, giving you that Paris Hilton video look. Or you can have it turn on the spotlight, which gives you colour night video. This works well but does scare the cat. We happen to use LIFX lights, which “enhance” night vision, so everything works together.
The battery on the cameras are great, Eufy says around 180 days. This can be tweaked by reducing recording length and retrigger intervals. The live viewing will also affect the battery, so use it wisely. The app will display the battery life of each device, so you know when to charge.
As we have a cat, I have set the camera to human detection only, as opposed to any detection. This works really well and has been trigged by the TV which shows how good the face detection is. The recordings will also include a snap of the persons face. So you can see at a glance the face of the person that’s been detected. A nice addition would be a way for it to learn “safe” people, so ones not to alert me too.

The hub can securely store up to 3 months of recordings via the 16GB eMMC. You can point the recordings to be saved on NAS if you need to increase your recording space. There is a cloud storage option, which is $2.99 per camera. Though I never needed to keep that many recordings, you can select all for a day and delete if needed. You can download video clips and snapshots, all from within the app.
The Eufy Entry Sensor allows for 730 days of monitoring. It’s small and is perfect for doors or even windows. The hub can sound an alarm when the door sensor is activated, this is about 100 decibels. They use 3m tape on the back for easy installation.

Overall the eufy eufyCam 2C Wireless Home Security Camera System is just the best. We have used Canary cams in the past, and the Eufy 2C is a far cheaper superior security system. For £299.99 you get 2 cameras, 16gb of local storage accessible through an app. You can talk through the cameras as well. Apart from cloud storage, I see no reason to use any other security system.
