Noise cancellation with custom filters provides the peace and quiet you need wherever you go. Ambient Awareness allows you to let outside noise in, so you can have a conversation without taking your earbuds out.

IPX4 Certified sweatproof and water resistance means the Roam NC stand up to the toughest workouts.

With the free Cleer+ app, you can customize the noise-cancelling and environment sound levels for better isolation or awareness. The app also allows customization of touch controls and Equalizer settings along with the ability to update the firmware. Available in the Apple App Store and Google Play store.

Cleer Acoustic Labs custom-tuned 5.8mm dynamic drivers deliver vibrant audio performance.

Long battery life with up to 15hrs of on-the-go listening. *5hrs of playback per charge, and 10hrs extra with the pocket-friendly USB-C charging case.

An intuitive soft Touchpad allows you to control music, volume, calls, and your voice assistant. With the free Cleer+ app, you can customize the TouchPad functions.

The Roam NC are Cleer’s lower-end true-wireless IEM. They are considerably cheaper than the Ally Plus, but I think offer a sizeable chunk of the useability and feature-set.

They arrive in very smart packaging; a nice sleeve surrounds a relatively plain black box. The box contains the IEM’s themselves, the charging case, and a small selection of tips. The included tips are the conical-flange type, which I liked the fit and sound of with the Ally Plus, but wasn’t as convinced by the noise cancelling. There is a smaller selection of tips with this IEM, and that makes sense, given the lower price point.

The charging case I actually prefer to the more expensive one. It comes without the cleer cover and is a bit smaller in form factor. The battery life no doubt takes a small hit for this, but TWS batteries are so good these days, and for my use case I never come near to running them dry.

The buds themselves are very comfortable, a simple round shape, with just a couple of bumps sticking out for the microphones. Not particularly small, but fit nicely into the ear and do not stick out obtrusively.

The connection with the phone was good, as I have come to expect from Cleer, and the app gives customisation over the ANC and the EQ. These ANC works very well on these, especially for the price, and combined with the right tips, they provide very good isolation. The EQ I left alone on these, as I found the stock sound just right for me.

Bass is good, enough to satisfy without being too boomy. It’s not the most extended, but still perfectly serviceable. I am not a bass-heavy listener but never found these to be lacking in any track I sent their way.

The midrange is nice and smooth. Vocals being clear and able to cut through as much as you would like. Timbre sounded nice and convincing, with instruments sounding as realistic as you might expect.

Highs are not the most extended, but perfectly adequate for normal listening, and I have not been troubled by any excessive sibilance or peakiness.

Overall, the Cleer ROAM NC Noise Cancelling True Wireless Earbuds have the natural sound and coherence of a single driver and provide the sort of listening experience that you want on the go. These are clearly an IEM designed for active use, rather than quiet, dedicated listening. They have a V-shaped, fun sound, and feel robust enough to just chuck in a pocket or bag and forget about until needed. A great little product.
