Friday 5th June marks World Environment Day – an annual event to raise awareness of the environment and specific environmental issues. The theme this year is ‘Time For Nature’. “The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature. Yet, these are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message: To care for ourselves we must care for nature”.
The House of Marley is a luxury lifestyle brand created by Bob Marley’s children. The company consciously creates its products from sustainable materials such as FSC certified wood, bamboo and cork, as well as Marley’s signature REWIND™ fabric made from organic cotton, reclaimed hemp and recycled plastic bottles. In an effort to spread awareness of global reforestation needs, the company set up Project Marley, a charitable initiative contributing to the planting of trees around the world through non-profit organisation, One Tree Planted.
The House of Marley recognises the responsibility to reduce their corporate footprint by contributing to positive environmental, social and economic impacts through carbon offsets, cleaner air, water filtration and greater biodiversity within the world’s forests. Since 2017 and through the donations made to One Tree Planted, the company has helped to plant 223,000 trees.
