STAR WARS Episode I Racer on Nintendo Switch is back featuring motion controls! Take control of a podracer speeding through flaming methane lakes, Tusken Raider assaults, anti-gravity tunnels, and much more in a pulse-pounding, do-or-die fight to the finish line.

This is a port of the fan favourite STAR WARS Episode I Racer on Nintendo Switch. This means that on a 4k monitor, the nostalgic look of the game is enhanced, which may not be a good thing. Things like character designs look bad, and there are even things like reflections which appear to be missing compared to the original game. There was an update which enhanced the menu to feel a tad more HD.

Once you start racing this is when the game takes off. You get to pick from a selection of racers, and you can unlock more as you win races. You also gain money, which is then used to upgrade pod. As you play there is a nice difficulty rise, which is slow and progresses through the game. Levels offer a large amount of scenery and don’t get boring. Controls are easy to pick up, I wasn’t a fan of the motion controls, but they worked well in handheld mode.

Overall, STAR WARS Episode I Racer on Nintendo Switch is a nice break on the Switch. If you are after the game you played back in 1999, this is it. If you are after an HD remake, then this isn’t the game you are looking for. Finally, check out Jabba Reviews. Also, follow us on Twitter or Facebook.
