Being an avid gamer and a self-professed tech enthusiast, I’ve had my fair share of experiences with gaming mice. I recently had a chance to spend a considerable amount of time with the Redragon M811 PRO Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse. Well, let me tell you, it was certainly an experience, and not in the way you might expect.
The Redragon M811 PRO, with its promise of “Wireless Freedom Fly” and hype-speed 2.4Ghz wireless connection technology, was supposed to be my ticket to gaming nirvana. The idea was to liberate me from the tangled cords that had been a staple of my gaming set-up. I was promised soaring and sky-high feats, all without the constraints of a wire. In reality, it felt more like I had been grounded. The wireless feature, while a great concept, didn’t quite live up to its lofty claims. Sure, it was convenient not having to deal with cords, but the trade-off was a less than stellar connection.
The mouse boasts of a customizable DPI range from 500 to 26,000, spread across 5 redefinable DPI levels. For those unaware, DPI stands for ‘dots per inch,’ essentially translating to how sensitive your mouse is. Having a high DPI can be beneficial for rapid movements in first-person shooter games, while a lower DPI might be better for games that require more precision. Sadly, adjusting the DPI on the M811 PRO was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The sensitivity was either too high or too low, and I couldn’t find a happy medium. The software that was supposed to help customize these settings was as intuitive as trying to navigate through a labyrinth in the dark.
Redragon M811 PRO Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse Review
The M811 PRO is not shy about its buttons, featuring 15 programmable buttons, including 8 side buttons. If you’re a fan of buttons, this mouse has you covered. But, much like a piano with too many keys, it was overwhelming. For some, having a wealth of buttons might be a boon, but for me, it felt like trying to control a spaceship with too many controls. There were times when I found myself pressing the wrong buttons in the heat of battle, leading to some rather embarrassing defeats.
In terms of comfort, I must give credit where credit is due. The ergonomic design of the mouse is actually quite impressive. The natural grip build made it comfortable for long gaming sessions, and it fits nicely in the hand. It was the one area where the M811 PRO genuinely shone. I could game for hours without experiencing the hand cramps that some other mice induce.

The M811 PRO also includes customizable lighting effects to help “create the ultimate gaming atmosphere.” While a nice touch, the lighting felt more like an aesthetic gimmick than a practical feature. Yes, it does add a certain ambiance to your gaming space, but it doesn’t contribute anything to the performance of the mouse itself.
The device’s durable battery life is one of its saving graces. The 1000 mAh lithium battery can last up to 80 hours with the lights off, which is impressive. The quick 5-hour charging time is also a plus, ensuring you’re not out of action for long.
Redragon M811 PRO Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse Review
Overall, the Redragon M811 PRO Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse promised a lot but under-delivered in many areas. It seems to be a jack of all trades but a master of none. It’s like that player on your team who talks a big game but fails to deliver when it counts. The M811 PRO is a classic case of overpromise and underdeliver – a mouse that tried to do too much and ended up falling short in too many areas. Maybe Redragon should go back to the drawing board with this one.
This mouse might just be the perfect example of the saying, “less is more.” Redragon tried to pack too many features into one device, and it ended up feeling overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time. While there are some redeeming qualities, such as its ergonomic design and impressive battery life, the overall performance left a lot to be desired.
In my opinion, the Redragon M811 PRO Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse is a product that’s trying too hard to be everything to everyone. Unfortunately, it falls short of being a reliable and efficient tool for serious gamers. If you’re a casual gamer who values aesthetics and ergonomics over performance, this mouse might still appeal to you. But if you’re a serious gamer looking for precision, adaptability, and a reliable connection, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. The M811 PRO might be a high flyer in its claims, but when it comes to delivering on those claims, it’s quite grounded.
