The HyperX QuadCast S RGB Gaming Microphone is the ideal all-inclusive standalone microphone for the aspiring streamer or podcaster looking for a condenser mic with quality sound. QuadCast comes with its anti-vibration shock mount to help reduce the rumbles of daily life and a built-in pop filter to muffle pesky plosive sounds. Instantly know your mic status with the LED indicator, and simply tap-to-mute to avoid awkward broadcasting accidents. With four selectable polar patterns, this mic’s prepared for nearly any recording situation and also features a conveniently-located gain control dial to quickly adjust your mic input sensitivity. The included mount adapter fits 3/8” and 5/8” thread sizes and is compatible with most stands.

The QuadCast S model provides RGB lighting and dynamic effects that are customizable through HyperX NGENUITY software. They have also upgraded the port to USB-C. There are four different polar patterns you can change to on the fly:
- Stereo
- Omnidirectional
- Cardioid
- Bidirectional
I found I tend to leave it on cardioid, as this is perfect for zoom calls and video narration. There is adequate noise blocking and it picks up my voice perfectly. There is a gain control knob on the bottom, so you can increase and decrease the gain as needed. The other three polar patterns are good for round table discussions, being outside, or a conference call.

I was really pleased with the build quality of the QuadCast S. It’s hefty, sits well on the desk and has a good solid feel to it. The grating around the top hides the RGB lights, which can be customized via the HyperX software. You can pick colours, effects and see them live as you select each one. The top features a tap to mute, which also turns off the lights as a nice visual indicator.
The included USB-C cable is braided and very durable. I t was perfect to be stuffed behind my desk and had enough slack to manoeuvre the mic easily. There is an included headphone jack on the back is perfect for voice chat whilst gaming. It also uses the included DAC built into the mic.

Overall, if you plan on showing off your mic on calls/streaming then the HyperX QuadCast S RGB Gaming Microphone is perfect for you. It’s bright, sounds and looks flashy.
