HONOR 70 Mobile Phone Review

The HONOR 70 Mobile Phone debuts the SONY IMX800 Image Sensor. Large sensor size and F/1.9 large aperture support full pixel focus and let in more light, with a 122° Ultra Wide and Macro Main 2-in-1 Camera that switches your photography perspective automatically.

The super dual-curved screen with smooth lines is better when held. 6.67″ OLED screen with a 1.07 billion colour display, restore the most realistic image. Also supports up to 120Hz screen refresh rate for smoother animations and scrolling.

Also, it’s supported by high-performance 66W HONOR SuperCharge, which only takes 20 minutes to charge to 60% for its built-in 4800mAh large-capacity battery. The HONOR 70 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus chip. The CPU single-core performance is improved by 4%, and the GPU performance is improved by 7% compared with the 778G. Honor’s exclusive OS Turbo X technology enables the same chip to bring a better experience.

MagicUI 6.1 is based on Android 12, with all Google apps and Play Store, bringing all your favourite apps. The HONOR Image Engine computational photography platform revolutionizes night photography, bringing you delicate night photos with balanced light and shadow.

The Honor 50 phone is very good. I have had Huaewii phones for the last few years, and have liked them, but living without Google Play is a big ask.

The good thing about the Honor 50 phone, is both Google- and Huawei-based apps work out of the box, so you get the best of both worlds. I wanted Huawei Health for my Honor Fitness band, but it didn’t work. However, I contacted Honor support and was told Petal Health is basically the same thing I installed instead and it IS Huawei Health (it even calls itself that!) but works on Honor. There are also one or two other Huawei apps I use that work straight from Google play (I think you have to install some apps on other versions of Android to use Huawei ones).

Other highlights of the Honor 50 are the amazingly quick charging and the battery life. I use my phone a lot but it can last two days which is brilliant, and it charges in a few minutes.

Overall, the HONOR 70 Mobile Phone is a great all-around phone. Face reader/fingerprint/NFC all work fine.
