Not the 5000mah it claims to be. Compact and lightweight is a plus but it barely doubles the capacity of a standard gopro battery, which is the application it was bought for. I tested the hero 8 with a Anker 5000mah power bank and got a solid four hours of recording and the Anker still had lots of life in it (46% showing on the gopro…), so a good power bank will give the desired output but the form factor of the Anker isn’t right for me. That is why I bought this one.
I had to find a way to charge a wireless microphone setup without having to dismantle it all the time – and the idea I came up with was to use a small power bank connected via a USB cable, and it works perfectly. Each use of the microphone last up to an hour, and in that time, the power bank is trickle charging the wireless transmitter so there’s no fear of it running out of juice. Works well for what I needed.
