Developed by dermatologists, the gentle, non-foaming gel formula of the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser cleanses the skin to remove excess makeup and dirt, while protecting the skin barrier with three essential ceramides and MVE technology to provide instant and long-lasting hydration. Hyaluronic Acid helps to retain the skin’s natural moisture.
I’ve used this for about 2 weeks and it seems good. Good enough that I bought another one.
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Review
However, things to note: if you are used to soap that foams, this one doesn’t and takes some getting used to as I’m unable to use it with a sponge… I find myself adding more and more just to satisfy myself that it’s still on the sponge and cleaning my body. Of course, this then means that I use more than I would with any regular soap that foams and spreads easily. But again this is probably because I’m used to foaming soaps and using sponges. I must mention that I think it does the cleaning job though because I see the “dirt” in the water when rinsing.

The other thing to note is that this leaves your body feeling “slippery/oily”. I guess this is probably the effect expected and wanted by people looking to moisturise. I am used to testing cleanliness by having the proverbial “squeaky” clean feel and sound when I rub my skin, not the feeling of soap or oil still being on my body. This is not a bad thing but if you’re not used to it, just thought to give a heads up as it took me by surprise and I’m still not used to bathing and having a soapy/slippery/oily feel afterwards no matter how long I rinse.
Overall, CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a good product and in combination with the cerave moisturising creme, I have seen a difference in my extremely dry skin which is now feeling and looking supple even in the current 1-degree weather.
