The speaker looks very sleek with a very rugged solid build. The sound in signature mode could vastly be improved with the app. It almost doubles the sound output, making the mids and highs and bass a lot more vibrant. For the bass, it’s a very detailed bassline, but instead of being a thumping punchy bass i.e drum or 808, it’s more of a low-end bass vibration kick. Maintaining some of the thumping sounds.
Connecting the speaker to my phone via Bluetooth was super quick and very easy to do. I like how it can be paired with another speaker. Also, the battery life has been solid.
The sound with mids and high could be improved. I feel like there is something missing with instrument sounds not coming through as loud or crisp. I think the lack of tweeters is a flaw. Although I still rate the mids and highs around seven out of ten. But this could have been done so the bass is the most resonating sound hence why the product was more focused on bass. For the size, I think Soundcore should have made this a 50 or 60watt speaker. The volume is a little lacking, another 20% volume increase would have been perfect. After all for the size. The sound is not as loud as you’d expect.
Overall, the Anker Soundcore Motion Boom Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a fantastic product for the price.
